FOR BROWS, EYELINER, AND LIP PROCEDURES,
I'm confident that any questions you may have can be answered here on this site by reading the suggested links, including our VIRTUAL CHAT feature as well as our FAQ page. The main reason you might need to meet in advance is to get an allergy test if you have very sensitive skin.
Appointments may run late.
We do respect your time and we know it's frustrating to have to wait. So if your schedule normally runs tight, you should definitely book your procedure as the FIRST procedure of the day so can wrap up your appointment on time. Please DO NOT schedule a tattoo on your FACE on any day when you have other time sensitive or important events!

Don't book your appointment at 1:00 if you have to pick up your kids at 3:00Please Appointments starting at noon or later may be held up due to a variety of reasons beyond our control. Some cases are more difficult and time-consuming than others. So while we cannot fully anticipate, nor guarantee, when the procedure prior to yours will be finished, as there are numerous things to consider, Just know that we will give you the same attention that you deserve.

Please educate yourself PRIOR to your appointment.

There are many pros & cons of having any cosmetic procedure, and we are committed to providing as much information as we can to help you become the most informed consumer possible.

WHAT TO AVOID BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:
  • Eliminate cigarette smoking and second-hand smoke completely before and after your procedure. Cigarette smoke (including secondhand smoke) affects your lungs, heart, blood vessels, and the way in which wounds heal. It changes the way topical anesthetics work and can have a profound impact on your results.

  • Do not use any other herbs or supplements prior to your procedure. While some herbs and supplements can contribute to a healthier, longer life, new evidence shows that their benefits are derived mainly by functioning as blood thinners.  However, using a blood thinner prior to your procedure may complicate the application process since it may cause you to bleed more which, prolongs healing.

  • You should also eliminate alcohol and drugs such as steroids, marijuana, cocaine, and amphetamines.

  • It is imperative that you do not take any non-prescription dietary supplement, vitamin, or herbal or homeopathic medicine for at least two weeks prior to your treatment.

  • Stop taking all aspirin and blood-thinning supplements and vitamins.

  • Stop all anti-inflammatory drugs such as Ibuprofen, Motrin, Aleve, and any medications that contain aspirin.

  • Stop taking Vitamin E, except what is included in your multivitamin.

  • Maintain a healthy diet.

  • Limit excessive use of alcoholic beverages, as they can thin the blood and cause bleeding.

  • Start your supplements and vitamins as recommended.

  • Follow the pre-procedure diet outlined above.

  • Fill any necessary prescriptions. (ie: antiviral meds for lip procedure,

  • SMOKING
    • Eliminate cigarette smoking completely before and after your procedure. Cigarette smoke (including secondhand smoke) affects your lungs, heart, blood vessels, and the way in which wounds heal. It changes the way topical anesthetics work and can have a profound impact on your results.

HERBS & SUPPLEMENTS
  • Avoid taking any herbs or supplements prior to your procedure. While some herbs and supplements can contribute to a healthier, longer life, new evidence proves that their benefits are derived mainly by functioning as blood thinners.  However, for our application, using blood thinners prior to your procedure may complicate the application process as well as prolong healing. With this in mind, you should also eliminate alcohol and drugs such as steroids, marijuana, cocaine, and amphetamines. Stop taking any non-prescription dietary supplements, vitamins (other than daily vitamins), or herbal or homeopathic medicine for at least 2-3  weeks prior to your treatment.

ONE YEAR PRIOR TO AN APPOINTMENT
  • YOU MUST BE OFF OF ACCUTANE FOR ONE YEAR PRIOR TO ANY INVASIVE COSMETIC PROCEDURE OR SKIN REJUVENATION TREATMENT.

THREE WEEKS PRIOR TO PROCEDURE:

START GETTING YOUR BODY INTO GOOD SHAPE.

  • Try to drink eight ounces of water 30 minutes before each meal. (Our bodies are 70% water, and all of that water needs to be continuously replaced.)

  • Eat five times a day: Three meals and two snacks.

  • Eat more fruits and vegetables.

  • Eat less pasta, bread, grains, and cereals.

  • Eat a healthy breakfast.

  • Have a small snack a half hour before exercising.

  • Have a small snack before bedtime.

TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO THE PROCEDURE

The following recommendations may only make a marginal difference in your outcome, but every little bit helps!

START TAKING:  ARNICA MONTANA

(pills, not cream)

Arnica Montana helps to prepare the skin by reducing bleeding, swelling & bruising and also helps to speed healing. If you are allergic to Arnica Montana, or unable to take it for any reason,  you may start eating pineapple every day and take Bromelain to help speed healing.

  • Get proper nutrition and rest.

  • PRESCRIPTIONS REQUIRED PRIOR TO PROCEDURES. DO NOT STOP TAKING ANY PRESCRIPTIONS WITHOUT YOUR DOCTOR'S RECOMMENDATION!

  • ANTIBIOTICS: Are required if you've had any joint replacements.

  • ANTI-VIRAL MEDICATION: THIS is needed for ANY LIP PROCEDURE if you get fever blisters or cold sores.

  • DIETARY RECOMMENDATIONS:
  • Drink plenty of water every day. (Our bodies are 70% water, and all of that water needs to be continuously replaced.)

  • Drink eight ounces of water 30 minutes before each meal.

  • Eat five times a day: three meals and two snacks.

  • Eat more fruits and vegetables and less pasta, bread, grains, and cereals.

  • Eat a healthy breakfast.

  • Have a small snack a half hour before exercising.

  • Have a small snack before bedtime.

  • Maintain a healthy diet. and eat a surplus of Green Leafy Vegetables.

ONE WEEK PRIOR TO THE PROCEDURE
  • Start taking Arnica Montana and/or start eating a lot of fresh Pineapple, which will help promote faster healing with less bruising. You can order Arnica Montana on Amazon, buy it at Whole Foods Market or most any  Nutrition or Vitamin Store.

  • Get enough proper nutrition and rest.

  • Do not stay up late or work long hours.

  • Stop using anti-aging products such as Obagi, and Retin-A, or any other acid or mechanical exfoliators on the area to be treated.

LIP PROCEDURES:
  • If you've ever had a cold sore, (even 1) you'll need to start on an antiviral medication to reduce the chances of a breakout during healing.

  • EYELINER PROCEDURES: Remove Lash Extensions at least 3-5 days prior to an EYELINER procedure.

3 DAYS PRIOR TO THE APPOINTMENT:

STOP TAKING OTC the following products  (but NEVER discontinue PRESCRIBED medication without first consulting your physician).

  • STOP TAKING (NON-PRESCRIPTION) BLOOD THINNERS FOR AT LEAST 1-2 DAYS PRIOR TO PROCEDURE. Again, never discontinue any prescriptions w/o asking your doc!

  • Alcohol - It thins the blood, and causes more bleeding.

  • Caffeine - It increases the heart rate, causing more bleeding.

  • Aspirin or any Aspirin based products, including Baby Aspirin

  • Anti-Inflammatories

  • Ibuprofen

  • Motrin

  • Advil

  • Aleve

  • Naproxen

  • Fish

  • Fish Oils

  • Green Tea Extract, Garlic, Ginkgo Biloba as well as Cayenne Pepper supplements.

  • Vitamin E (Internal Capsules and External topicals as well.)

  • stop ANY facial oils. EXCESSIVE CREAMS AND OILS PLUMP UP THE SKIN making it difficult to implant pigment and also can cause less color retention.

  • Use cleansers only.

  • Stop exercising.

  • Remember, if you are having eyeliner, be sure to remove any lash extensions at least 3 days prior to the procedure.

  • Remember, if you are having a LIP procedure, be sure to start taking your anti-viral medication NOW

2 DAYS PRIOR TO THE APPOINTMENT:
  • REDUCE VIGOROUS EXCERCISE: Exercise increases the heart rate, expands pores, and produces sweat. This can cause a loss of color retention. So FOR the BEST RESULTS, please avoid any exercise within 1-2 days prior to your procedure and for a minimum of 7 day and up to 14 days following your procedure, for OPTIMAL RESULTS. If you must exercise, (and I know some of you WILL), do so sparingly.

  • If you must exercise, you must also be willing to accept the fact that your color may fade and additional follow-up sessions may become necessary.

Cleanse skin as normal for a few days prior to the procedure... However, stop using all oils or skin creams in the area to be treated to reduce the amount of oil in the skin. The DRIER the skin, the BETTER THE COLOR RETENTION!
THE DAY BEFORE YOUR PROCEDURE
  • Refrain from consuming alcohol or caffeine.

  • NO EXERCIZE: (see above).

  • Remember: When cleansing your face only, use cleanser only, rinse and pat dry - DO NOT use Moisturizer on areas to be treated.

  • Remember to keep taking Arnica Montana & Pineapple.

  • GET PLENTY OF REST.

  • EYELINER:
    • PLEASE REMOVE AND LASH EXTENSIONS AT LEAST 3-5 DAYS PRIOR. REMOVE CONTACT LENSES PRIOR TO PROCEDURE.

  • DOCTOR' RELEASE NEEDED:
    • If you've ever had Shingles, Staph, Sepsis, MRSA, Diabetes, Cancer, Chemo, or any other medical condition that required or requires medical intervention. Please ask your doctor to send a clearance letter to Permetika@gmail.com - prior to treatment.

IF YOU ARE SICK or RUNNING A FEVER - PLEASE STAY HOME. WE WILL RESET YOUR APPT.
  • IF YOU HAVE ANY ACTIVE SKIN OUTBREAKS NEAR THE AREA TO BE TREATED, WE MUST RESET YOUR APPOINTMENT.

  • Shower in the morning and wash and condition and style your hair as normal.

  • Remember, cleanse your face only - use no Moisturizer on the forehead or temples.

  • Take any necessary prescriptions.

  • DON'T BE SCARED! This is your day to be happy, have fun, and get treated like the Queen that you are!

DAY OF PROCEDURE:

  • During the numbing process, just relax. Being nervous (is expected) but a real waste of energy, because you're about to be amazed!

  • Once the procedure is started, additional topical (as needed) will be applied to help control discomfort.

  • Almost every client agrees that the procedures are much more tolerable than originally anticipated.

  • If you have to wait, we ask for your patience while we take good care of the client in the chair.

  • Avoid a TIME CRISIS on your end, by allowing a 3-4 hour window of time to complete your appointment.

  • Do not plan anything right after your appointment just in case we are running behind.

  • Make a backup plan in case you have lunch or dinner plans.

  • Have someone scheduled as a backup to pick up your kids.

  • Don't plan any first dates, a speaking engagement, or a walk on the red carpet on the day of your procedure. You have some healing to do!

ABOUT APPOINTMENT DAY . . .

  • REMEMBER - NO CAFFEINE TODAY. NO HEAVY EXERCISE.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR APPOINTMENT:

CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE LINKS BELOW.

The linked pages shown in the footer section below are where you'll find the information you need to learn in order to make an informed decision.

Not everything will be pertinent to you. So as you read, jot down some notes that pertain to you... then just before and after your procedure, you will need to stop/start consuming certain products.

For example: We have a page called PRE PROCEDURE TIPS to assist you in timing your procedure.

PHOTOS
  • Mandatory Before and After photos will be taken for your client file.
  • IF YOU DO NOT WANT JS TO USE YOUR PHOTOS  on our website, or for marketing & training purposes... simply ask us to mark them as  CONFIDENTIAL.
  • YOU MUST SIGN OFF ON THIS.
SANITATION, STERILIZATION & SAFETY
  • From the moment we start, you will observe our strict attention to sanitation guidelines throughout the duration of your service. ONLY DISPOSABLE PRODUCTS ARE USED FOR YOUR PROCEDURE. ALL NEEDLES ARE PRE-STERILIZED, ONE-TIME USE FOR YOUR HEALTH AND WELL-BEING!

  • After each procedure, surfaces are wiped down with virucidal/germicidal agents and draped with plastic barriers.  Disposable gloves are worn and changed any time we need to leave our work area or handle a device or product that's not on the work tray. Following each procedure, disposable parts are inserted into properly labeled containers for proper disposal. All waste material is wrapped up in plastic and properly disposed of.
PAIN MANAGEMENT
Pain thresholds are totally different from client to client. Some feel more than others, but the sensation ranges from a plucking feeling, vibration, scratching, but it's rarely unbearable. We prep our client's brows with topical numbing cream throughout the entire process to dull the discomfort. If you have low pain tolerance, it's best if you apply numbing cream for 30-60 minutes beforehand.
BY TEXAS STATE LAW, a cosmetic tattoo studio is only allowed to administer Lidocaine at 4% or less without a Medical Director, however, stronger topical applications may be available to you over the counter or online.
You may also ask your physician to prescribe a stronger topical that you can apply prior to your procedure.
DO NOT RISK APPLYING TO YOUR OWN EYELIDS!
If the numbing cream gets into the eyes it will burn and could cause a corneal abrasion if it is not flushed properly and immediately.
  • IF YOU TAKE MEDICATION FOR ANXIETY THAT RELAXES YOU OR MAKES YOU SLEEPY, YOU MUST BRING SOMEONE WITH YOU TO DRIVE YOU HOME -OR- ARRANGE FOR TRANSPORTATION HOME.
    • Sleeping pills are not pain killers! Do not take them prior to your procedure.
Proper AFTERCARE is also important.
  • Buy a travel pillow to sleep with.

  • Don't schedule anything important on the day of your procedure.

  • Plan for a relaxing few days with no IMPORTANT EVENTS following your procedure. Of course general outings, work, lunch or dinner with friends is typically ok (unless you don't want anyone to notice a thing) because Days 2-3 may appear red and inflamed surrounding the treated area.

  • For 1-2 weeks, strenuous activities are restricted. Nothing should cause you to sweat... because sweat contains salt & salt reduces pigment retention.

  • After all, you are considering a decision that WILL impact your appearance for a very long time.

  • The information shared throughout this website is meant to help you form realistic expectations about the procedure(s) that you're interested in.

  • As you read over the website, be sure to take notes, and set reminders on your phone or calendar of things that pertain to you and your personal situation, lifestyle, diet, medications, hydration, the downtime you may require as well as your daily habits.

  • While we strive for perfection, all cosmetic procedures come with inherent risks for many reasons listed here on this site. If you do not take the time to read the links in the footer section below, you could have certain expectations that cannot be met. OR you may have fears that are not true. So please take some time to research!

  • Your skin is a biological system - NOT an inanimate canvas. It is designed to rid itself of foreign matter, which includes pigment.   Yes, we put that foreign matter into your skin in the form of "art" - hoping all of it will stay. But your body doesn't know that we want it there, so it's going to do its job - and try to take the color out.

  • This means your healed results after the first visit, MAY end up TOO LIGHT, BLURRED & COLORS MAY SHIFT a little.  This is why we opt for a layering approach, applying a second NEW LAYER OF ART 8-12 WEEKS LATER (just where needed). Then on subsequent follow-up sessions, when necessary.

  • This gradual application will help move you closer to beautiful, natural-looking work at a safer pace than overdoing it upfront. Our conservative approach rarely leads to the color being too dark and you'll NEVER end up with SUPERHERO BROWS here at Permetika!

Permanent makeup usually doesn't last forever. The delicate work required in tattooing the face means that the ink is more superficially placed in the skin to blend in and enhance your features, without standing out too much, so naturally, it fades faster than traditional tattoos. Additionally, the face receives more UV exposure, also causing the ink to fade more quickly.
  • Touchup sessions may be necessary as early as three months after the initial session and can continue indefinitely. To ensure the best pricing, I recommend sticking with an annual plan.
  • As with any tattoo or invasive cosmetic procedure, it's normal to experience a bit of swelling for three to seven days. The pigment may also appear darker than the target shade for about six weeks, so patience is key throughout the process.
  • To help minimize swelling and bruising, you may start taking Arnica Montana (pills, not cream) about a week or two, prior to a procedure. Arnica Montana helps prevent bruising and swelling after cosmetic procedures. Visit: Permetika.com/arnica to learn more about dosage and where to purchase.
  • Clients with full brows can also benefit from permanent makeup... the purpose it serves is to provide a guideline for waxing techs to follow.
  • An important post-treatment precaution to know: The minerals in some permanent makeup can interfere with MRI images, so be sure to inform your MRI technician of any micropigmentation (or tattoos) you have on your face or body.
PRIOR TO ANY PROCEDURE . . .
We recommend that you purchase Arnica Montana and start taking prior to your procedure. Continue taking for approximately two weeks after to help speed healing. Also, read over the list of things to avoid!
FOR OPTIMAL RESULTS
SET A REMINDER TO COME BACK AND RE-READ THE RECOMMENDED INFORMATION ABOUT A WEEK PRIOR TO YOUR PROCEDURE DATE.
BOOKING A PROCEDURE AT PERMETIKA MEANS  . . .
  • THAT YOU AGREE WITH US THAT A CONSERVATIVE APPROACH IS THE BEST APPROACH (FOR YOU) IF YOU WANT A NATURAL LOOK!

  • YOU UNDERSTAND THAT ARTISTRY IS ONLY HALF THE BATTLE... CLIENTS MUST ALSO TAKE PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR TAKING PROPER CARE BOTH BEFORE AND FOLLOWING ANY PROCEDURE. So be sure to read this entire page to learn what to do and what to avoid regarding your particular procedure.
  • YOU UNDERSTAND THAT SPECIFIC RESULTS CANNOT BE GUARANTEED BECAUSE EVERY PERSON IS DIFFERENT - INTERNALLY AND EXTERNALLY - and things change over time because we are dealing with a BIOLOGICAL SYSTEM (your skin) that is affected by everything you do OR consume. (Lifestyle, Sun, No Sun, Diet, Medications... etc.)
  •  LIFESTYLE DIFFERENCES: SOME PEOPLE SPEND A LOT OF TIME IN THE SUN, WHILE OTHERS RARELY SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY. SOME ARE IN GREAT HEALTH, AND HEAL FAST WITH EXCELLENT RESULTS, WHILE OTHERS TAKE MORE TIME TO HEAL. ALL OF THESE FACTORS, (AND MORE) PLAY A ROLE IN YOUR HEALING AND WE CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR HOW EACH PERSON'S FINAL RESULTS TURN OUT.
  • YOU UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL BE GIVEN MULTIPLE OPPORTUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE PROCEDURE TO CHECK AND DOUBLE CHECK SHAPE AND COLOR FOR ACCURACY ACCORDING TO YOUR OWN PREFERENCES... THIS IS THE TIME TO SPEAK UP - SO PLEASE FEEL FREE TO DO SO! WE DO NOT MIND. . .  THIS IS YOUR FACE!
FUTURE MAINTENANCE
Permanent makeup is only called "permanent" because it doesn't wash off. And "SEMI-PERMANENT" DOES NOT necesarily fade off when you expect it to.  FOR THESE REASONS, I PREFER THE LABLES OF "COSMETIC TATTOOING" or "MICROPIGMENTATION" because they do NOT indicate any sort of TIMELINE! But it does certainly fade over time, so you'll need to keep up if you want it to stay fresh looking!

A CONSERVATIVE APPROACH
may require MULTIPLE FOLLOW-UP SESSIONS  because there is no way to predetermine, what the outcome will be for each person.
  • Please understand (in advance) that Multiple sessions may be necessary for those who do not hold much color. This protective measure will help us reach a target goal, without going overboard.
HEALED RESULTS
Results are as unique as the person having it done. What appears to be "just enough" for one person, may be barely noticeable to another.  The same principle applies to flaws.  Artistic abilities are as unique as there are artists... and we carry a HUGE RESPONSIBILITY to identify the particular needs of every client and merge our visions.
You will find that immediately following cosmetic tattooing, the color looks heavy and Once the application heals, it will provide even more amazing results - than the initial procedure. However, if for some reason, you do not feel you're not happy, please give us a text and we'll call you back to set either a phone consult or an appointment to come see us! We'll explore other options to make you HAPPY! We know it's a big investment... and want you to be thrilled!
FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENTS:
Choosing a permanent makeup procedure is a little bit like buying a car.  If you refuse to change the oil & buy new tires, and paint it when it fades... you cannot expect the car to stay in great shape. Same with permanent cosmetics... Maintenance is now a part of your life if you want to keep things looking fresh.
  • FOLLOW-UP SESSIONS ARE NOT FREE.
    • Annual Follow-up . . . . . . . . . . .  $400
    • Bi-Annual Color Boost . . . . . .  $950
    • Tri-Annual Start-over. . . . . . . $1400
You will find that some newer technicians may offer free work, but rarely will you find a seasoned and reputable artist who does not charge for the time. Those offering free work could be new in the field,  or not as highly skilled as a veteran artist.
  • ARE YOU WILLING AND ABLE TO CONTINUE WITH MAINTENANCE.? YOU SHOULD, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE SUPER HIGH EXPECTATIONS!
  • MULTIPLE FOLLOW-UPS MAY BE NECESSARY OR YOU ONLY MAY NEED ONE. EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT.
  • Schedule Follow-ups at twelve (12 ) week intervals, following the date of your initial procedure. This keeps the application dates on track.
  • NOTE: When you are 2-3 Weeks away from your next appointment, take a quick glance to see if you really need to come. Send a photo to me for help if you like.
    • If you feel that everything is ok, and you'd rather wait a while,
    • (or if something else comes up) you may postpone your appointment.
  • Changes to your appointment date MUST be done at least one (1) week prior to your appointment date.
  • If you would like to postpone, just search your emails for "Permetika" to find your most recent confirmation email. You will find a link there to reset your appointment.
  • To make a change within a week, you will need to reach out to us to make that change. Penalty may apply on a case by case basis.
FOLLOWUP SESSIONS ARE  NECESSARY!
We need the opportunity to make adjustments and may take as long as a regular session to perform.  FOLLOW-UP SESSIONS are more involved than just a quick little session to fill in a few empty spaces. Consider it instead, as THE NEXT LAYER OF ART!
Occasionally, the appointments will take longer than the initial session, but we don't charge more for the time, unless we run over an hour or more. Usually, the extra time is due to clients being indecisive. If I have a client waiting, there is an extra rate starting at $100 per hour because when a client has to wait an extra long time, I may want to offer a discount for THEIR time.
HOW TO TELL WHEN YOU NEED A FOLLOWUP.
  • WHEN (IF) PIGMENT COLOR SHIFTS... This takes a different amount of time for every client. And SOME clients never experience this shift - but at some point, the color no longer look natural. This is normal. I apply corrective color (in every session) to HELP prevent this from happening, but it still can happen. Just know that IF the pigment starts looking "suspicious" (gray, red, blue, orange or any other non-appealing color, it's just time for an  adjustment.)
  • Is it time for an annual toughup? Scheduling annually, keeps the price at the lowest rate.
(Pssst... HERE'S A LITTLE FOLLOWUP LOOP-HOLE:
If you think the color is still good at one year, you may book your annual appointment toward the END of the year, then schedule the appointment out another whole year. This gives two years for the price of one! This saves money!

THE AGING PROCESS OCCURS:
  • One day you may look up and notice that your brows suddenly seem uneven... That may take 6 months or it may take years.  The older we are, the faster things change. This is an unfortunate, yet real problem for some. If you find that one brow suddenly looks higher than the other, you might want to also look at the wrinkles and furrows above and around your brows as a clue to find out where these pesky changes are coming from! NOTE: The same muscles that allow us raise our brows to SEE BETTER, to show emotion, etc... are also responsible for brows that change in shape over time.
BOTOX & FILLER
can also help correct this issue - OR -
may even exacerbate it, depending on the provider!

Over time, the skin stops returning to its natural state, and wrinkles form.  So, consider this too  if you were once happy with your brow shape, but now you're not... Blame the muscles, not the artist. . I assure you - the pigment didn't just pick up and move.  SINCE THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THAT CAN BE PREVENTED, AND WAS NOT CAUSED BY THE ARTIST - YOU WILL JUST NEED TO EITHER GET INJECTIBLES TO HELP CORRECT WHAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM, OR COME IN FOR ANOTHER FOLLOWUP SESSION.

HEADS UP -  APPOINTMENTS OFTEN RUN LATE
Some appointments may run late! We do respect your time and we know it's frustrating to have to wait. However, we cannot fully anticipate, nor guarantee, when the procedure (prior to yours) will be finished. Just know that we will give you the same attention that you also deserve when it's your turn to be in the chair.
IMPORTANT:
  • Afternoon Appointments may run late. We do respect your time and we know it's frustrating to have to wait. However, we cannot fully anticipate, nor guarantee, when the procedure prior to yours will be finished. Just know that we will give you the same attention that you also deserve when it's your time in the chair.

HAVE YOU SUFFERED FROM ANY OF THE FOLLOWING HEALTH ISSUES?
If so, we need your doctor's clearance (permission) to perform a procedure:
  • SHINGLES
  • STAPH INFECTION
  • SEPSIS
  • DIABETES
We will need a Doctor's clearance in advance of treatment stating that you are able to have your requested procedure.  IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER HEALTH ISSUES AT ALL, PLEASE DISCUSS THEM WITH YOUR DOCTOR AND PLEASE BRING THEM UP FOR DISCUSSION PRIOR TO YOUR PROCEDURE.
Good general health, proper nutrition, and a good attitude... are ALL integral parts of the healing process. Swelling, edema, bruising, discoloration, scar formation, redness, and the time you take to heal – all are influenced by your diet, especially in the weeks prior to and just following your procedure.

Frequently Asked Questions . . .
IF AFTER READING THROUGH THE FAQ TOPICS, YOU STILL HAVE QUESTIONS. . . PLEASE LET US KNOW AND WE WILL REACH BACK OUT AS SOON AS WE CAN.
  • Good health, proper daily nutrition, and a good mental attitude all factor into creating the best possible scenario for OPTIMAL RESULTS!  Each of these trigger points is heavily influenced by your diet, smoking, and supplements - especially in the weeks just prior to and following your procedure. Poor health and a bad diet can directly affect the amount of edema (swelling) bruising, discoloration, scar formation, redness, and length of healing time.
PLEASE HELP US KEEP THINGS LOW STRESS:
  • DO NOT SCHEDULE IMPORTANT EVENTS BEFORE OR AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT TODAY.  SOMETIMES IT'S UNAVOIDABLE THAT WE RUN LATE AND DON'T WANT ANYONE STRESSING OVER THINGS.
  • Most clients are cool calm and collected. If however, you show up with a lot of anxiety it only prolongs the event. Take a few deep breaths and realize that you are in good hands!
  • The first appointment of the day starts at 10:00 am. There is a 30-minute window in which to complete paperwork and ask any final questions as we start the numbing process.
  • Your arrival time is not your START time. Your specialist will start your first procedure approximately 30-45 minutes later to allow for sufficient numbing and set up of work area.

  • Remember, after cleansing your face - DO NOT USE any Moisturizer on the forehead or temples.
  • You may wear makeup, but you may also come with a clean face too if you choose to.
  • Wear comfortable clothes. Bring a sweater. It can get cold in the office building.
ABOUT BROW PROCEDURES
  • Generally produces minimal to no pain.
  • After the first session, the color will be too light.
  • Once healed, we will know more about how YOUR skin reacts to the treatment and can make adjustments at the follow-up session.
  • This is for your protection. Please embrace it!

ABOUT EYELINER PROCEDURES
  • REMOVE LASH EXTENSION at least 3 days prior to eyeliner procedures.  If you fail to do this, we will have to reset your appointment and you will have to pay a new booking fee.
  • REMOVE CONTACT LENSES prior to your appointment.

  • Bring a contact lens case with saline and do not reapply your lenses for about 48 hours after an eye procedure.
  • Bring prescription glasses with you to the session. You will need to wear them home after any eyeliner procedure.
  • You may also ask your physician to prescribe Xanax - but you must arrange for transportation. If we feel that your judgment, balance, or speech is compromised in any way, we will cease the treatment and you will have to reschedule your appointment. The fees will be forfeited.
  • Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is normally sufficient to control any discomfort or occasional pain due to the procedures.
  • Do not dye or perm eyelashes for 7 days prior to the appointment - refrain for another month following an eyeliner procedure.

  • Do not use an eyelash curler for about 2 weeks after an eyeliner procedure.

  • Eye surgeries???
    • Be sure to consult with the physician about how long you should wait before having a permanent eyeliner procedure.

  • Eyeliner normally causes more mental anxiety than true "pain". The tickling is far more annoying than "painful".
  • You may want to consider taking Antihistamines such as Benadryl before the procedure as it may reduce swelling and help you relax.

    • Do not take them prior to your procedure.
ABOUT LIP PROCEDURES
  • IF YOU REQUIRE ANTIBIOTIC PRIOR TO A DENTAL APPOINTMENT, YOU NEED TO TAKE THE SAME MEDICATION PRIOR TO COSMETIC TATTOOING.
  • If you have ever had (even one) fever blister or cold sore, you should consult your physician a few weeks in advance and get a prescription for an antiviral medication to start taking a few days before, during, and for a few days following your lip procedure. If you fail to do this, you risk an outbreak, which will most likely remove most or all your implanted color!
  • Lips are the most sensitive of all procedures, pain-wise. We stay ahead of the pain as much as possible by applying more numbing cream as needed. Most people are able to tolerate the initial pain. I assure you, I will give you a break as soon as you tell me to and will apply a more numbing gel to help alleviate the pain.
  • Following the procedure, lips will sting a bit and feel sunburned for 12-24 hours.
  • Then feel super chapped for the duration of the initial healing process.
  • Once they peel, they will feel really tender, like baby skin.
  • Continue to keep moisturized any time they start to get dry.
  • LIPS ALMOST ALWAYS TAKE 2-3+ SESSIONS FOR COMPLETE COLOR. This is a highly active area and the color is easily lost on some people.
  • Darker Lip Color could take 4-5 sessions, or more.
  • AVOID SUN & TANNING BEDS FOR ABOUT A WEEK PRIOR TO AND FOLLOWING A PROCEDURE.

ABOUT OUR SYLE OF WORK . . .
Early in my career, I was trained to apply 30-50% extra color in anticipation of color loss that happens throughout the healing process. The problem with this approach is that SOME people tend to hold ALOT of the color... this is how disasters are created.
I prefer to work JUST UNTIL things look  BEAUTIFUL, then you can leave looking somewhat normal! The downside of this approach that SOME people don't hold a lot of color at all. Especially if you have a strong immune system or fail to take good care during the healing phase.  MOST people fall somewhere in the middle and look much better than they did before.

So wouldn't you agree that of the two options, the latter conservative approach is the safest way to go?

Please remember that following our guidelines does not guarantee 100% success. Bottom line, your own body has the final word on how much color stays and how true the color heals. However, there are things we can do to help encourage better color retention. Every client will have a different outcome. Just remember that shape and color can be adjusted on subsequent sessions AFTER we see how the initial session has healed in. Then we will be able to tell what color and shape adjustments to make later.

NEVER take sleeping pills prior to your procedure! They will NOT help you "relax"!  While you might become sleepy, you could also become combative...  and start swatting me away from your face in your sleep. Trust me on this. It happened!  In the best interest of the client, I actually had to terminate the procedure and drive her home. TRUE STORY!

IMPORTANT REMINDER:
When YOU book an appointment at PERMETIKA, it is with the understanding that you have READ, UNDERSTAND AND AGREE  with the information that I have shared throughout this website.

This information is meant to help you in forming  realistic expectations, foster a great relationship and to avoid  any potential misunderstandings in the future.

WHY is this so important?
BY BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT WITH PERMETIKA, YOU UNDERSTAND (& AGREE) THAT IN YOUR BEST INTEREST, WE START WITH A CONSERVATIVE APPROACH, WHICH MAY MEAN INITIAL RESULTS COULD BE TOO LIGHT. ADJUSTMENTS WILL BE MADE DURING SUBSEQUENT SESSIONS UNTIL YOUR DESIRED RESULTS HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED. (Followup Sessions).
REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS must be established prior to your procedure. By the time you arrive for your appointment, you should know some things, in advance.
And there is a lot to remember, so please:
  • READ OVER ALL PAGE LINKS IN THE FOOTER SECTION OF EACH PAGE.
  • TAKE NOTES AS YOU READ OF THINGS THAT PERTAIN TO YOU.
  • SET REMINDERS ON YOUR PHONE TO START TAKING ARNICA MONTANA.
  • SET REMINDERS TO ALERT YOU TO UPCOMING APPOINTMENTS
  • SET REMINDERS TO START MONITORING YOUR INTAKE OF BLOOD THINNERS, DIET, ETC.
EACH PROCEDURE IS EXPERIMENTAL!
EVERY client is different. Even YOUR OWN SKIN is never exactly the same - each time you come in. Changes occur based on diet, medications, sun exposure and various lifestyles...

Also, please remember, that we are inserting art into a BIOLOGICAL SYSTEM ~ WHERE NOTHING IS EVER CERTAIN!  Your skin is a living, breathing, moving organism that is designed to protect you when a wound is created. SO IT FIGHTS THE PROCESS... by trying to push out - what it perceives as a threat,  (ie: the pigment).  SO WE MUST FIGHT BACK... to retain as much of the color, as possible and we do this with proper application & proper aftercare.

Therefore, we vow to proceed cautiously. IN TURN, WE EXPECT . . . that you consider yourself a well-informed client who understands that your procedure will NOT stay exactly as it appears when it was initially implanted.  It changes throughout the healing process.

BY BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT WITH PERMETIKA, YOU UNDERSTAND (& AGREE) that a conservative approach is best for you as well and are willing and ABLE to commit to more sessions as needed  TO BUILD TOWARD YOUR ULTIMATE GOALS, instead of risking too much color retention, at once.

The more you know, the better prepared you'll be. People often don't think it's important to prepare...  We feel it's best to do everything you can, to achieve optimal results. People who have had body art know that some tattoos heal well while others need follow-ups.
  • This is even more true with Permanent Cosmetics. Our pigment is not applied as deep in the skin as a body tattoo, so we need to fight to keep what color we can!
  • So we hope you will take the time to learn about our process and spend a couple of weeks preparing for your procedure by starting & stopping certain products, eating well, and start taking the Arnica Montana as recommended, if able.
  • We feel that these steps will HELP secure a MORE successful procedure than if you don't prepare at all.  However, because all skin is different, we cannot guarantee a perfect outcome, as the art we apply is in YOUR SKIN, and skin is UNPREDICTABLE.
  • The worst-case scenario would be that most of your color doesn't take.  If this happens, you must be mentally prepared to get back up in the saddle - and DO IT AGAIN!  Most people require 2-3 sessions with my technique. However, some people may need more. Some less!
  • IN EXTREMELY RARE CASES, the color could go too dark, even though we do perform conservatively. If this happens, we will need to assess the situation in person.

Session  #1
This is where I lay the foundation. This first pass is done deliberately on the conservative side so that NO ONE ends up with a color that is too dark.
Please remember, we are putting artwork into your SKIN, so when color is applied lightly, some people will end up with a color that is patchy and much too light.  If your first session loses a lot of color, it may appear patchy, uneven, or with unnatural-looking hues. Please consider this normal and just be sure to book your follow-up appointment, as this is not a mistake on our part as we cannot control what your skin retains. We will catch it up on your follow-up visit. Until then, please apply makeup to balance out the color.

Please remember, that missing color stems from the fact that I am putting art into your SKIN. And the skin is a living, breathing, moving organ that is designed to protect you when a wound is created. SO IT FIGHTS... by trying to push what it perceives as a threat,  (this foreign body called:  Pigment) back out of your system. AND WE MUST FIGHT BACK... to retain as much of the color, as possible and we do this with proper application & proper aftercare.

Sessions  #2 and 3+
Follow-up sessions are required to balance the color and add more strokes to the missing spots....
Follow-up visits are not included in the price of the procedure.
Follow up sessions range from $200 -$500, depending on the procedure and artist chosen.

The more you know, the more prepared you'll be.  I'm a seasoned artist . . . This means that I know, that in spite of experience, things can sometimes still go sideways on occasion.  HOWEVER, YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT A DISASTER HAPPENING IF YOU CHOOSE US TO DO YOUR WORK!  The trick is knowing what adjustments are necessary to get things back on track... and I do!

In most cases, the worst-case scenario is that the color didn't hold well. If this happens, you must be mentally prepared to get back up in the saddle - and DO IT AGAIN!  Most people require 2-3 sessions with my technique. However, some people may need more. Some less! In a few cases, the color held too much. For this reason, I work very conservatively!

MY GOAL, FOR YOUR FACE . . .
is for your permanent makeup to enhance your look - while remaining UNDETECTABLE as a tattoo!  This requires a conservative start, so you should "expect" the initial outcome to be too light, but with more definition than before.  All initial "brow" procedures are applied with a LESS IS MORE APPROACH.
Only a few lucky clients heal with near-perfect results. The others heal with various stages of patchiness, and the only remedy is a follow-up to catch the color up in the areas that didn't take well on round one. Also, since it is impossible to prove or disprove how well it was cared for... For example:

  • Did you fall asleep on one brow?
  • Did you rub or pick it too much?
  • Did you ice them well enough?
  • Did you wipe them enough?
  • Did you shower too long?
  • Did they get too hot?
  • Did you sufficiently protect them from the sun?
  • Are you on meds?
  • Did you remember to take Arnica Montana?

This list can go on and on. And for this reason, I do hope this helps you to better understand why I require follow-up visits. Just a reminder to all...  This information is posted on my website in various places to make sure, that most people see it:

  • I also send a reminder (upon booking) to refresh your memory about planning and caring for your procedure.
  • I send another reminder when your appointment is near.
  • Our consent form, also recaps much of this information, prior to your procedure.
  • During your procedure, I continue to verbally explain that you will need a minimum of at least one follow-up session.
  • Your aftercare paperwork is another reminder that follow-up sessions are needed.

I use a few colors to start and do so sparingly. Once healed, we assess and adjust according to your personal preferences and how well the color healed in your skin. I start light because there are few things more hideous than brows that are too thick or too dark.

  • People often ask if they really need to plan...  Some just assume that it's not that important.  We feel it's best to do everything you can to achieve optimal results.
  • People who have had body art know that some tattoos heal well while others need follow-ups. This is even more true with Permanent Cosmetics. Our pigment is not applied as deep in the skin as a body tattoo, so we need to fight to keep what color we can!
  • So we hope you will take the time to learn about our process and spend a couple of weeks preparing for your procedure by starting & stopping certain products, eating well, and eliminating blood thinners (unless prescribed, then consult with your physician).
  • Start taking the Arnica Montana as recommended, if able.
  • We feel that these steps will HELP secure a MORE successful procedure than if you don't prepare at all.  However, because all skin is different, we cannot guarantee a perfect outcome, as the art we apply is in YOUR SKIN, and skin is UNPREDICTABLE.   The worst-case scenario would be that most of your color doesn't take.

So when you schedule an appointment at PERMETIKA, it is with the understanding that you have READ, UNDERSTAND, AND AGREE  with the way I perform the application. The information that I have shared throughout this website is meant to help you form realistic expectations, foster a great relationship, and avoid misunderstandings in the future.   By the time you arrive for your appointment, we will have shared this information with you, in advance and on multiple levels.

The success of each procedure depends on a variety of factors such as the natural talent and skill level of the artist, the client's health, what medications they are taking, lifestyle & personal habits, and if the client fully cooperated by following the guidelines such as taking ARNICA MONTANA for two weeks prior to the appointment and by following proper care following each procedure.

How fast one heals also plays a huge role. The faster you heal, the better the color retention. The longer it takes to heal, the more time there is to lose the color.   So please be patient with the process and schedule your follow-up visit for the best results!

BOOKING FEES & POLICIES

  • Booking fees are required to reserve your place on our calendar. The fee is 50% OF the COST OF PROCEDURE. The remaining balance is not due until the day of your appointment. BOOKING FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE, however, if you have an emergency and cannot show up, please call us and we will do our best to get you set up on a better day.

NOTICE OF CANCELLATION:

(See Policies & Forms Page) The amount of time required to change your appointment date is based on the idea that we want to give your fill-in client as much time to prepare as you had. Please remember, that no one else can book your spot and if you cancel, we can't easily fill it because other clients need that time to prepare. So we rely on your commitment to keeping things flowing smoothly. If you cancel at the last minute, we have no way of filling your spot or making up for lost revenue.  So we split the loss 50/50 in the form of a forfeited booking fee.

NO-SHOW APPOINTMENTS:

(See Policies & Forms Page) No Shows will forfeit their booking fee. To rebook, you will need to schedule a new visit with a new booking fee.

REGARDING OUR PRICES

Prices are subject to change with or without notice.

REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS:

OPTIMAL RESULTS MAY TAKE A DIFFERENT AMOUT OF TIME FOR EACH CLIENT DUE TO THE ENORMOUS DIFFERENCES IN CLIENT BIOLOGY AND PERSONAL HABITS. SOME TREATMENTS JUST TAKE BETTER ON SOME CLIENTS, AS WELL AS CERTAIN BODY PARTS MAY TAKE (THE SAME PROCEDURE) BETTER IN SOME AREAS, THAN IN OTHERS.

Pigment IN the skin, looks different than makeup ON the skin. We do our best to make it look as natural as possible and build toward your desired results. This requires a conservative start, (to protect those who hold more pigment than others. This means that MOST of you will most likely need multiple procedures.

We hope this (and other) understanding will help to foster a great relationship where we can build on future ideas together.

In order to gain a specific understanding of your procedure, you should read the pages outlined on this page.  Keep in mind throughout the learning process that while we do have a great track record, YOUR comprehension and

cooperation also plays a large role in your overall happiness.
